LEXINGTON, Ky. -- Peter Ferraro collected three goals and newly-acquired Jason Krog had one goal and two assists as the Providence Bruins captured their second consecutive road victory, beating the Kentucky Thoroughblades, 5-0, in an American Hockey League game last night at Rupp Arena.

Providence took a 1-0 lead after one period on a power-play goal by Eric Manlow at 17:15 off assists from Jeff Wells and Landon Wilson.

The Bruins increased the advantage to 2-0 on a power-play score by Ferraro at 8:17 of the second period with assists going to Sean Pronger and Jeremy Brown.

Jason Krog's first goal with Providence made it 3-0 at 1:13 of the final period. Jay Henderson and Keith McCambridge collected assists on the goal. Ferraro scored his second goal of the night at 8:22 to increase the lead to 4-0 as Krog and Henderson picked up assists. Ferraro's third score, off passes from Krog and Duane Harmer, concluded the scoring at 17:12 on the power play.

Kay Whitmore made 20 saves on the way to his first shutout of the season for the Bruins, who improved to 27-26-6-3. Providence concludes its three-game road trip in Cincinnati tonight at 7:30 against the Mighty Ducks.
