Ferraro twins are All-Stars

Thursday, December 16, 1999
Providence, RI --

The Providence Bruins announced today that forwards Chris and Peter Ferraro have been named to the PlanetUSA team for the 1999-2000 Kodak AHL All-Star Classic, held in Rochester, NY Jan. 16-17. Peter was named to the starting lineup, being voted in by the fans. He currently ranks second on the P-Bruins with 9-14-23 totals in 23 games. He was also named the Most Valuable Player of the 1999 Calder Cup Playoffs after tying for the League lead with 9-12-21 totals as the Bruins captured their first Calder Cup.

Chris, Peter's identical twin, was acquired by Providence on loan from the New York Islanders Nov. 19. He has posted 10 points in 13 games since being reunited with his brother for the first time since the 1997-98 season. Chris also suited up for last year's All-Star Classic in Philadelphia and scored the game-winning goal for the PlanetUSA All-Stars. He was named the Bauer USA Player of the Game.

This year's All-Star Classic marks the second time in their careers that the Ferraros have played together in the Game. They were members of the "World" Team that defeated the Canadian Team, 18-9, in the 1996-97 competition. Chris and Peter were members of the Binghamton Rangers at the time.

The Ferraros and their PlanetUSA teammates, which include all players from outside Canada, will be coached by P-Bruins head coach Peter Laviolette and assistant coach Bill Armstrong.
