Bruins add Grahame and Henderson; Ferraro named AHL Player of the Week

Providence, RI-  It's been a busy Monday for the Calder Cup champion Providence Bruins.  Goaltender John Grahame and left wing Jay Henderson were reassigned to Providence by the Boston Bruins, while right wing Peter Ferraro was named the named the Sher-Wood AHL Player of the Week. The B's, riding a four-game winning streak, are preparing for their next contest, this Friday, Nov, 19 when they host the expansion Louisville Panthers at 7:05 p.m.

Grahame, who set an AHL record with 19 consecutive wins last season, was off to a sensational start with Boston, going 3-3-2 with a 1.72 goals-against average and .939 save percentage. He had also won his last three starts, posting a 0.67 GAA and .978 save percentage.  Grahame notched his first NHL win Oct. 23 in San Jose. His first NHL shutout came against the Buffalo Sabres Oct. 30. His last outing was a
30-save effort in a 3-1 win over the New Jersey Devils Nov. 4. The Denver, CO native is in his third pro season and backstopped the P-Bruins to their first Calder Cup last June by going 15-4 in the postseason. Grahame outdueled Rochester's Martin Biron in the Calder Cup Finals, allowing just
eight goals in five games, as the B's knocked off the Amerks four games to one. Grahame led the AHL last season with 37 wins during the regular season.

Henderson played in three of the last four games with Boston and tallied his first NHL point Saturday against the New York Rangers on Jonathan Girard's first NHL goal. Henderson suited up for Boston
Nov. 6 against Atlanta and was reassigned to Providence after the game. He was called up again Nov. 11 and played the next two games with Boston against Toronto and the Rangers. The Edmonton, Alberta
native has tallied 4-7-11 in 15 games with Providence this season. He played in 55 games during the Bruins' championship season of '98-99, totaling 7-9-16 with 172 penalty minutes.

Ferraro is the first Bruin to win AHL Player of the Week honors this season. He posted two goals and four assists in two Bruin victories over the weekend. He tallied one goal and two assists in Providence's 7-2 win over the Hershey Bears Friday night. The next night, the Port Jefferson, NY native posted 1-2-3 again and capped off a three-goal Bruin third period with the game-winning tally, in a 5-4 victory over the Lowell Lock Monsters. Ferraro, who has played two games with Boston this season, ranks second in P-Bruins scoring with 8-9-17 totals in 18 games.

The Bruins, winners of four straight games, are 10-5-2 on the season and preparing for two games this weekend, hosting Louisville Friday at 7:05 p.m. and visiting Lowell Saturday at 7:00 p.m. The Bruins will
practice Tuesday and Wednesday at Schneider Arena at 10:30 a.m. and Thursday at the Civic Center at 10 a.m. Tickets for all home games are available by calling the Providence Bruins ticket office
